Job Summary
The Finance Manager for Hungary is a critical role with Avient. This position is responsible for tax filings and audits, leads manufacturing account activities, general ledger accounts reconciliation and period-ending closings on a monthly, quarter-end and annual basis according to Hungarian and US GAAP as well as all of its financial planning and reporting.
Essential Functions
- Partners with plant management to resolve financial related issues, assist and guide them on the method of cost allocation and assessments, supports the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Closing duties, including cost center and account analysis, process order reviews and corrective actions, adjust entries and posts recurring entries, distributions and assessments.
- Guides the plant on management of the plant capital spending system and on accounting for fixed assets.
- Guides the general manager and business team leaders in decision making and actions, on a day-to-day basis as well as on a forecasting/planning basis.
- Sets up and maintains plants and warehouses cost center distribution and assessment in SAP to allocate costs.
- Sets up and maintains plants and warehouses profitability assessment function in SAP to correctly reflect business performance and provide basis for financial analysis.
- Leads collaboration with plant management and regional analysts to ensure that product master data and costs are properly updated and accurate as well as plant books are closed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manages plant level incentive accrual and metric tracking.
- Performs plant specific analysis to identify trends and control issues that need addressing. Resolves issues through to resolution and communicates fiscal changes/adjustments as needed.
- Monthly income tax calculation, quarterly income tax provision
- Sox and internal control and support for statutory accounts including answering Audit request
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- 5 years + experience in Finance and Accounting according to Hungarian law
- Hungarian GAAP as well as Tax / VAT practical knowledge according to Hungarian law
- Experience with Audits and SOX Compliance
- Proficiency in written and spoken Hungarian and English
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in operating in a manufacturing environment with a hands-on mentality.
- Organizational skills, a self-starter with high level of analytical skills and resilience
- Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable
